Before you buy
Measure the backset of your existing lock, from the edge of the door to the centre of the cylinder. A 40mm backset suits narrower door stiles; 60mm is the other common size. Check your home insurance for the locks it requires.
Fitting
Fitting needs accurate drilling and chiselling. If you are not confident, use a locksmith. Always test the lock with the door open before closing it.
