The ERA Universal Pressbolt can be used on all external and internal doors. Simply press the spring-bolt to lock and use the key to unlock. The rotating hardened steel bolt resists hacksawing. When in the closed position the screws are concealed.

How to use it

Fitting locks, hinges and door hardware

Measure and fit replacement locks and hinges, and keep your home secure.

Step by step

Measure the old part before buying: cylinder length both sides, case size, backset or hinge size.
Unscrew and remove the old part, keeping the screws if the new ones are missing.
Check the new part fits the existing holes and recess.
Fit and tighten the screws a little at a time.
Test the lock or door several times with the door open before closing it.

Tips

A euro cylinder is measured from the centre fixing screw to each end.
Insurers often ask for British Standard BS3621 locks on final exit doors.
A drop of graphite or lock lubricant keeps locks smooth.

Safety

Do not lock yourself out: test new locks with the door open.
Get a locksmith for anything you are unsure about on an outside door.
