A 25 metre coil of JG Speedfit 10mm white PEX barrier pipe for hot and cold water and central heating. The pipe has five layers, with a blue oxygen barrier in the centre that limits air getting in and so reduces corrosion of metal parts in the system. It is flexible but more rigid than polybutylene, so long runs need fewer fittings and have fewer potential leak points. It resists corrosion and scale, has low thermal conductivity so hot pipes are cooler to touch, and JG Speedfit say its elasticity reduces the risk of bursting in freezing conditions and noticeably reduces water hammer noise. The 10mm size is often used for microbore heating runs.

Using it
Cut the pipe square with a plastic pipe cutter and deburr it. Fit a pipe insert (JG Speedfit recommend their Superseal insert for Speedfit pipe) before pushing it fully into the fitting, and mark the insertion depth so you can see it is home. Follow JG Speedfit's instructions on clipping and connections near boilers.
