Fitting and care

Turn off the water, fit the tap through the single tap hole and connect the tails. Check for leaks. Clean with warm soapy water and a soft cloth.

How to use it

Replacing taps, shower heads and toilet seats

Swap taps, shower parts and seats yourself with basic tools.

Step by step

Turn off the water at the isolation valve or stopcock and open the tap to drain it.
Put a towel in the sink to catch dropped parts.
Undo the tap connectors and back nut, and lift the old tap out.
Fit the new tap with its seal, tighten the back nut, then connect the flexi hoses.
Turn the water on slowly and check every joint for drips.
For shower heads and seats, check the fitting size before buying.

Tips

Check your water pressure: some taps need a minimum pressure, shown on the product.
Flexi tap connectors make fitting easier.
Use PTFE tape on threaded joints, not on compression olives.

Safety

Make sure the water is fully off before undoing anything.
If unsure, call a plumber.
