Dealing with pests

Get rid of mice, insects and slugs and stop them coming back.

Step by step

Identify the pest from droppings, damage or sightings.
Remove food sources: seal food in containers and clear crumbs.
Block entry points, such as gaps round pipes and under doors.
Use traps, baits or sprays as the label says, placed where the pest travels.
Check traps daily and dispose of catches with gloves.
Keep up prevention once the problem has gone.

Tips

Mice run along walls, so place traps against the wall.
Copper tape round pots stops slugs without chemicals.
Fly screens and wasp traps work best set up early in summer.
